IMISS-1

IMISS-1 device

The main purpose of IMISS-1 device is to test the performance quality of microelectromechanical inertial measuring modules in space. The possibility of using of this device in order to solve the problems of personal spatial orientation correction under extreme conditions, in particular, in an automatic gaze stabilization corrector, will be also studied.

What’s the idea of the measurement method?

The IMISS’s operation is based on a micromechnical inertial measuring module which provides registration of three projections of linear acceleration and angular rate. This device will measure one projection of linear acceleration. This value will be also calculated calculated basing on data of gyroscopes from the standard orientation system and satellite’s trajectory.

Comparing the measured and calculated values we’ll find out if it is possible to use microelectromechanical inertial measuring modules in an automatic gaze stabilization corrector, and calculate the value of changes of microsensors’ instrumental errors under the space conditions as against the Earth ones.
